In March, thirty-eight people traveled to Retalhuleu, Guatemala, and broke ground on the Escuela de los Santos (School of the Saints) as part of the UNI Lutheran Student Center's annual spring break mission trip. Escuela de los Santos is a project of Caminos de Esperanza (Journeys of Hope), a newly founded not-for-profit organization seeking to empower poverty-stricken Guatemalan children and foster a spirit of connection between Guatemala and the Midwest.
