Dedication of The School of the Saints
The School of the Saints
is named in memory of and dedicated to Diane Dardón's father,
Eugene "Gene" Schmit ,
who died on January 11, 2005 from cancer
and
Estuardo Dardón's father,
Inez Dardón,
who died on January 11, 2007 as the result of an auto accident.

Both of these saints had a
love for life
and they lived their lives in
service to their communities.
They knew the
importance of education
and they
loved children.
The School of the Saints
has been
inspired by these two great men

their spirits will continue to inspire
all those who join the Schmit-Dardon family on Journeys of Hope in Guatemala

The School of the Saints is also named in honor of all the saints--
hundreds of missionaries making the dream of a school for the poorest of the poor a reality
and hundreds of saints who will laugh and play and learn in the school.
